When to Replace Your Water Filter

Every 6 Months or 200 Gallons

Most refrigerator water filters are designed to last approximately 6 months or filter up to 200 gallons of water — whichever comes first.

When Your Fridge Displays a Filter Alert

Modern LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, and Frigidaire refrigerators have built-in filter indicators that notify you when it's time for a replacement.

Changes in Taste, Odor, or Flow

A drop in water pressure, an unusual taste, or an off smell from your dispenser are clear signs your filter is overdue for a change.

Q. How often should I replace the LG LFXS28968S filters?
A: Replace both filters every 6 months, or sooner if you notice bad taste, odor, or slow water flow.

Q. What contaminants does the LFXS28968S water filter remove?
A: The LT1000P filter helps reduce chlorine taste and odor, lead, sediment, and common water impurities. Learn more about what contaminants are removed.

Q. What happens if I don’t change my LG LFXS28968S fridge filter?
A: If you don’t replace your fridge filter on time, water quality can drop. You may notice a bad taste, strange smell, or slower water flow.
