When to Replace Your Water Filter

Every 6 Months or 200 Gallons

Most refrigerator water filters are designed to last approximately 6 months or filter up to 200 gallons of water — whichever comes first.

When Your Fridge Displays a Filter Alert

Modern LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, and Frigidaire refrigerators have built-in filter indicators that notify you when it's time for a replacement.

Changes in Taste, Odor, or Flow

A drop in water pressure, an unusual taste, or an off smell from your dispenser are clear signs your filter is overdue for a change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Which water filter and air filter does LG LF24Z6530S00 use?
A: This LG LF24Z6530S00 combo kit includes the LG water filter and refrigerator air filter. Match your refrigerator model and existing filter labels before ordering.

Q. How often should I replace my LG LF24Z6530S00 fridge water and air filter?
A: Replace the water filter every 6 months or after 200 gallons, whichever comes first. Follow the refrigerator's air-filter reminder and the owner's manual for the air filter. The gallon capacity applies to the water filter, not the air filter.

A: The water filter helps reduce chlorine taste and other specified impurities. Consult its performance data sheet for exact claims and conditions. Learn more about what contaminants are removed.

Q. Does the LG refrigerator air filter help reduce food odors?
A: Yes. The air filter helps reduce unwanted refrigerator odors. Cover food and clean spills regularly alongside scheduled filter replacement.

Q. How do I replace the LG LF24Z6530S00 water filter and air filter?
A: Follow your refrigerator manual for the water filter and use our air filter replacement guide for help with the air filter. Both components are designed for tool-free replacement.

Q. Do I need to flush the water filter after installation?
A: Yes. Follow the flushing volume and procedure specified in your refrigerator manual or the filter instructions before drinking the water. Flushing helps clear air and loose carbon particles.

Q. Why does my fridge water taste bad even with a new filter?
A: Confirm the correct cartridge is fully seated and the recommended flush is complete. Water-supply or refrigerator-system issues may also affect taste. See our filter troubleshooting tips if the issue continues.

Q. Can I clean and reuse the air filter?
A: Replace the air filter as directed rather than washing and reusing it. Follow the refrigerator manual's replacement schedule to maintain odor-control performance.

Q. What if I need help with my purchase?
A: Review our return and refund options or contact us for help with your order.
