I got this because my refrigerator requires one and this is a good product but I have hard water with a lot of lime in the water and it does not filter out all of the lime. My ice cubes still have mineral deposits in them. I didn't realise this until I let my ice melt in a glass. I am sure it filtered out some of the minerals but I was a bit disappointed. It hasn't been a problem with the taste of my water and my water is from a well and does have a taste without the filter so I know it is doing some good. I need to change my filter more often because of the very hard water. When I change the filter the old filter is a lot heavier because of all of the minerals collected. I am glad I have it but I wish I could find one that filters out all of the minerals.
