When to Replace Your Water Filter

Every 6 Months or 200 Gallons

Most refrigerator water filters are designed to last approximately 6 months or filter up to 200 gallons of water — whichever comes first.

When Your Fridge Displays a Filter Alert

Modern LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, and Frigidaire refrigerators have built-in filter indicators that notify you when it's time for a replacement.

Changes in Taste, Odor, or Flow

A drop in water pressure, an unusual taste, or an off smell from your dispenser are clear signs your filter is overdue for a change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What filters does the Frigidaire refrigerator model FRSS2623AW5 use?
A: This combo kit pairs the PurePour PWF-1 water filter (FPPWFU01) with the PureAir Ultra II air filter (PAULTRA2) for Frigidaire FRSS2623AW5 refrigerator maintenance.

A: Both filters are inside the refrigerator compartment. Check the filter-location diagram in your FRSS2623AW5 owner's manual before removing either filter.

Q: Can I install these replacement filters myself?
A: These filters are intended for routine replacement. Follow your refrigerator's instructions for removing the old cartridges and securing the new filters, and do not force either filter into place.

Q: What does the PurePour PWF-1 water filter do?
A: The PurePour PWF-1 water filter (FPPWFU01) helps reduce chlorine taste and odor for better-tasting water and ice. Refer to its performance data sheet for specific contaminant-reduction claims.

Q: What does the PureAir Ultra II air filter (PAULTRA2) do?
A: The air filter helps trap food odors inside the refrigerator to keep the fresh-food compartment smelling fresher.

Q: How often should I replace Frigidaire FRSS2623AW5 filters?
A: Replace both filters approximately every 6 months, or sooner if performance changes. The water filter's listed capacity is up to 300 gallons; air-filter replacement is not measured in gallons.

Q: Are both filters NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 certified?
A: The NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 certification claim applies to the PurePour PWF-1 water filter. It should not be applied to the PAULTRA2 air filter, which is used for refrigerator odor control.

Q: How do I replace the Frigidaire FRSS2623AW5 water filter?
A: Follow the water-filter removal and installation steps in your refrigerator's manual. After fitting the new cartridge, flush it according to the filter instructions, check for leaks, and reset the water-filter indicator as directed.

Q: How do I replace the Frigidaire FRSS2623AW5 air filter?
A: Locate the air-filter housing using your owner's manual, remove the old filter, and install the PAULTRA2 filter in the indicated orientation. Secure the cover and reset the air-filter indicator if your model has one.

Q: What should I do after replacing the filters?
A: Flush the new water filter as instructed, check for leaks and steady dispenser flow, confirm the air filter is seated correctly, and reset any applicable filter indicators.

Q: How do I reset the filter indicator light?
A: Use the reset procedure specified for the FRSS2623AW5 control panel in your owner's manual. Button labels and hold times can vary, so avoid using a generic reset sequence.

Q: What happens if I do not replace my refrigerator filters regularly?
A: An overdue water filter can contribute to slower flow or changes in water taste, while an old air filter may become less effective at controlling odors.

Q: What if I am not happy with the purchase?
A: This kit is offered with a 30-day refund policy. Review the return policy for eligibility and instructions, and contact us if you need help with your order.
